There’s one YouTube video that I keep going back to over and over again, more than any other, and it’s not even a Parry Gripp video or “Bert & Ernie tries Gangsta-Rap” that I’m talking about today.  That stuff is all awesome, but every since I gave in to facebook a couple of years there’s been an almost-daily reminder of my secret love for a certain mindless guilty pleasure of a booty-bass song.  When I see that it’s a dear friend’s birthday, I feel compelled to share with them the “It’s Your Birthday” song and video by Luke, aka Luther Campbell of everyone’s favorite Sunshine State troubadour family, the 2 Live Crew. Over the past coulpe of years, I have done a few t-shirt designs for a popular blog regarding all things Los Angeles Kings called MayorsManor.com.  The acquisition of the young left wing Dustin Penner from the Edmonton Oilers prompted Pennermania with the Kings fanatics, as well as a request from the Mayor to dish up a Pennermania t-shirt design to go along with the buzz. Seamlessly Integrating a Custom WordPress Blog Template to Your Website

When I first decided to re-launch this website, I had a few goals in mind.  I had been preaching and practicing the virtues of clean code and separation of concerns with the back-end code of the projects I was working on, and wanted to apply the same ideals to my front-end design as well.  While that certainly is easier said than done sometimes, the control freak in me was ready bang out a new custom site template that keeps as much of the aesthetics and presentation information as possible in CSS, and all UI behavior wrapped up into script files, leaving a nice, clean, and minimal HTML5 layer for the actual content.
